2022 – PAPER TALES – Paper Jewellery Challenge

The necklace “Back to Basics” I made for a paper jewellery challenge that was held by CODA museum. My work is inspired by the fantastic illustrations of the Dutch author and illustrator Dick Bruna. I love the simplicity, basic colour palette and lines he used in his drawings. Bruna succeeds to say a lot with very little and evoke emotions amongst his young readers and their parents.

This necklace has beads in four different colours that are taken from Bruna’s colour palette. I threaded the beads in a way that resembles Bruna’s large colour surfaces.

I haven’t won the challenge, yet, I was honored to be invited to exhibit my work with the winners.
